Tiny Tigers is a fun class introducing students aged 5-7 to the fundamentals of karate. The class helps develop focus, balance, coordination, listening skills and respect.
Peak Martial Arts offers a variety of classes for all age groups and levels.
The Anshinkai-do Karate curriculum was developed by Hanshi Jim Sereff over 20 years ago. The system is based upon several Okinawan and Japanese martial arts. The primary influences are from Shorin-ryu Karate, Shotokan Karate, Jujitsu, Kokondo, Shimpu kai Kempo, Kung-fu, and Okinawan Goju-ryu.
After retiring, Hanshi Sereff turned the school of Anshinkai-do over to Shihan Jon Moore and Shihan Janine Moore. They own and operate our honbu (headquarters) school, Moore Martial Arts, located in Windsor, CO.
In the summer of 2000, we began studying under Hanshi Bruce Juchnik from Sacramento, California. Hanshi is the 22nd inheritor of the system of Kosho Ryu and founder of Sei Kosho Shorei Kai. Among others, he was taught by Professor James Mitose who was the 21st descendant of the founder of Kosho Ryu.
Anshinkai-do belt progression is as follows:
White-Orange-Yellow-Purple-Blue -Green(1/2)-Brown(3/2/1)-Black.
The children's curriculum includes all of these belts as well as a stripe level between the colored belts up to green belt. In order to progress through the ranks, it is crucial that each student attends as many classes as possible.
A typical adult progression takes a minimum of 3 to 4 months between belts if they train four hours a week.
Children will typically take longer due to shorter class times.
